JOHN  MAHON

I've been a member of the Elton John band since 1997. On the road and in the  studio.

Percussion, vocals and drumwork.
 

I've been a professional musician since I was a teenager. I started drums with the Canton Police Boys Club Drum and Bugle Corp and continued with high school band and choir. After school I studied privately in Ohio until moving to Los Angeles in 1983 where I continued my musical education with teachers such as David Garibaldi and classes at the Dick Grove School of Music . 

 

During the time soaking up knowledge and honing my craft I was performing, writing and recording with numerous bands including my own original pop band, The Stickmen. Along the way I played drums with Peter White, Al Stewart, Rita Coolidge, Helen Reddy and percussion with Three Dog Night's Negron. All this experience and performing eventually opened the door to become a member of the Elton John Band.
